The Institute

The Suraj Eye Institute, MIHAN is a purpose-built, contemporary eye hospital located on a 16,000 sq. metre site at Plot No. 6, opposite the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur, and diagonally opposite the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur. It is well connected to the current Nagpur airport and is ideally positioned for the New Nagpur International Airport, which is expected to open in the next 2–3 years.

The building has been designed with both charity and private patients in mind, with separate dedicated wings for each, a shared advanced diagnostic area, and a four-theatre operating complex. The Institute has been built for growth — designed to scale capacity as Nagpur and Central India expand. It is also a green building, designed to utilise natural wind flow and solar trajectory to minimise energy consumption.
